The Alan Wake Remastered developers, Remedy Entertainment, have announced that their latest game will be released exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
While it’s still unclear whether Alan Wake will be put into retail or not, it appears that Remedy has confirmed that the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. The US developer, which is best known for its control-freak masterpiece Max Payne, has already released one game on the Epic Games Store, the Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break.
Sam Lake, the Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment, has confirmed that the Alan Wake Remaster is in development for the PC. The game will be available on the Epic Games Store, for Microsoft Windows.
Since 2012, The Sudden Stop has acted as a community center for Remedy Games fans. According to the blog article, this will be a very simple remake, comparable to the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Alan Wake Remastered will contain The Signal and The Writer additions, as well as 4K graphics and upscaled cinematics. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, a standalone expansion, isn’t expected to be included. That’s probably for the best, given how poorly American Nightmare was greeted by audiences.
Last year, Epic Games signed a publishing agreement with Remedy for two games. One of them is believed to be the studio’s next major game, which might be Alan Wake 2 or not. The second project, according to reports, is smaller and takes place in the same world. Alan Wake Remastered, which was just revealed, seems to be a good match.
The Alan Wake TV program was still in the works as of late 2024, thus it seems like Remedy has huge ambitions for the franchise’s future. Furthermore, the studio has previously said that Alan Wake and Control, which just marked its second anniversary, are set in the same world. The original edition of Control included an intriguing Alan Wake easter egg, and the AWE expansion gave us even more of him. Although Alan Wake Remastered is unlikely to include any references to Control, the widely anticipated sequel is virtually guaranteed to do so.
The release date for Alan Wake Remastered is unknown, although Epic has said that it will be sometime this Fall. In the meanwhile, if you haven’t already, we suggest checking out Bright Falls. It’s a six-part miniseries that serves as a prelude to the Alan Wake film. The mini-series may be found for free on YouTube and the Microsoft Store, among other places.
I’m a typical jack-of-all-trades author who enjoys writing about a wide range of subjects, but gaming has always been my forte. That said, I’d jump at the opportunity to report any exciting news about superhero movies, Stephen King books, or space exploration. Alternatively, there are robots. Or Stephen King-like space-traveling superhero robots.
Two years after its release on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Dead Space developer Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions have officially entered the next generation of consoles with the stealth action game, Death Stranding. The game, which will be released on PlayStation and PC and will be powered by the Fox Engine, will also be available on the new Nintendo Switch..
